Cancellation and Refund Policy

Cancellation 14 days or more before the event = 75% refund of the total balance.
Cancellation 8-13 days before the event = 50% refund of the total balance.
Cancellation less than 8 days before the event = 0% refund of the total balance.

There are no refunds for missed events, tardiness, early self-dismissals. In the event that weather is severe enough to require cancellation of the activity as determined by zoo staff, an offer of credit towards another program will be provided.

As long as you contact us 8 or more days before your activity date and space is available in the desired activity, there is no fee or penalty for transferring from one activity of the same type to another. However, we can only transfer a registration once. We are unable to make transfers within 8 days of an activity. Please call (209) 331-2138 to request a transfer.

Public and Family Programs
Presented by the Micke Grove Zoological Society

The Micke Grove Zoo Education Department is offering a variety of programs for toddlers, young children, and families. Explore your Micke Grove Zoo in a way you have never seen it before with the help of talented education staff!

Zoo Members receive free or discounted registration for most Education Programs. Programs can be booked and paid for online or by calling (209) 331-2138 Wednesday-Sunday between 8:30AM and 5:00PM.

Toys For Critters - Ages 4 and Up
Bring your family to make toys and treats for our family! Enrichments are items that help keep our zoo animal ambassadors happy, healthy, and engaged. Meet some of the education animals up close and with the help of education and zoo staff, create something special for the animals and watch your work be appreciated by the critters!

Times: 10:00AM-11:00AM
Dates: 2nd and 4th Sundays in April; 1st, 3rd, and 5th Sundays in May
Location: Micke Grove Zoo Alice S. Hunter Education Building
Cost: $8 per zoo member; $10 per non-member*. Limited space available. Each participant must be registered and children under the age of 17 must have a registered adult present.

*Zoo admission included. Parking is not included ($5.00; free for Zoo Members with Membership Card). 

Zoo Tots - Ages 18 months to 3 Years Old with an Adult
Private animal encounters and zoo fun for you and your little critters! New wild themes are presented every week by energetic staff members who know how to make your time at the zoo a memorable one! Limited space available.

Times: 10:00AM-11:00AM
Dates: Mondays
Location: Micke Grove Zoo Alice S. Hunter Education Building
Cost: $10 per pair (zoo members); $12 per pair (non-members)*. One additional participant is $6 for both children and adults regardless of membership.

Zoo After Dark

Join us for our most popular program to date! Combining animal encounters, storytelling, campfire snacks, and a flash light tour of the zoo, these intimate after-hours programs sell out every year. Register early for your chance to explore your Micke Grove Zoo After Dark!

Zoo Camp

Spring into fun this March with Zoo Camp! Zoo Camp will be held March 23-27 this year, and half-day and full-day camp programs are available for children ages 5-10!

Zoo Birthday Parties
Micke Grove Zoo offers very special, award-winning birthday parties for children ages four through ten. You will meet live animals from the zoo education program, learn interesting animal facts and create an enrichment project for our zoo animals. These birthday parties are environmentally friendly and educationally fun for all. Click here for information.

Discovery Stations (All Ages)
When you visit the zoo, you can often expect to see our informative Education Station carts set up throughout the zoo. Here, families can learn about some of our animals in a more hands-on way, including informative talks from our docents, handling bio facts and models, and viewing informative graphics. We are currently featuring Stations with information on primates, big cats, Madagascar and raptors.
