If I want to book a picnic shelter/indoor facility, what do I do?
Because our facilities are so popular, we usually book events a year in advance (this is especially true for weekend dates during peak season). Reservations can be booked up to one year in advance of the event. In fact, it is not unusual to have people waiting outside our offices to reserve preferred dates. To make a reservation, call 953-8800 or 331-7400 or stop by our Administration office in Micke Grove Park. Be sure to select an event date, an alternative date, time of function and number of people expected prior to making the reservation.

Can the reservation permit be faxed to me?
Reservations can only be made over the phone or in person at the Administration office, located in Micke Grove Park. Phone reservations can only be made after 8 a.m. On-site reservations may be made prior to 8 a.m., pending staff availability.

Do we need reservations for a field trip? Is there a fee?
No reservations are needed for self-guided school tours of Micke Grove Zoo. Classes are welcome to attend the zoo, but as of Sept. 1, 2003; visitors will be charged the standard zoo entrance fee - $2 adults and $1 youth 3 through 17. Children under three years of age will receive free admission. Vehicles designed to transport ten or more people will continue to be charged the $10 parking fee unless it has a “California Exempt” license plate. Weekday parking fees are $3 per car. Docents from the Micke Grove Zoological Society offer guided tours for a fee. Call 331-2010 for reservations.
